BANK OF BIRD-IN-HAND EXPANDS GELT BUS SERVICE WITH NEW MOUNT JOY LOCATION

BIRD-IN-HAND, Pa. – Bank of Bird-in-Hand is expanding its Gelt Bus mobile banking service to a new location at Mount Joy Gift & Thrift, 3141 Mount Joy Road, Mount Joy, Pa. Service will begin on June 6, 2025.

The Gelt Bus will be stationed at Mount Joy Gift & Thrift every Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., extending the Bank’s reach into Western Lancaster County. This new stop complements existing locations across Lancaster, Chester, Lebanon, Berks, and upper Dauphin Counties. Currently, the Bank operates three mobile banking buses serving 14 locations.

Bank of Bird-in-Hand launched its Gelt Bus Mobile Branch initiative in 2018 with a single vehicle. In 2020, the fleet expanded to include two additional 34-foot RVs, each equipped with an ATM, teller window, and a walk-in service area where customers can open accounts with a Bank of Bird-in-Hand team member. In June 2025, the Bank will introduce a fourth Gelt Bus to serve four additional locations in the Lykens Valley area.

To celebrate the new Mount Joy location, the community is invited to a special opening event on Friday, June 27, at 10:00 a.m. Guests can enjoy free popcorn and freshly squeezed lemonade as a token of appreciation from Bank of Bird-in-Hand, available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
