How to Open an Account
Ready to open a personal bank account with Bank of
Bird-in-Hand?
Here’s what you need to know:
No appointment is required to open a personal bank account, but the process typically takes about 30 minutes at any of our locations. For joint accounts, all account holders must be present when opening the account.
If you are new to Bank of Bird-in-Hand, an unexpired, valid form of ID is required. For US Citizens, a primary ID includes:
- State Driver’s license
- State/local-issued ID
- US Passport
- US Armed Forces ID or US Military ID
- Any Federal Government Issued Senior Citizen ID
- PA License to Carry Firearms
For non-US citizens or for those who do not have one of the primary forms of ID listed, contact your local branch to learn more about acceptable forms of ID.
We also ask that customers bring the minimum opening deposit with them at account opening. Once the account is opened, you can talk with your Bank of Bird-in-Hand team member about available funds. For customers requesting a debit card, your card can be printed and activated at account opening.
If you bank with a larger bank, you get a template. They personalize services and plans that are unique to my needs.
